I am a writer of English composition at Arizona State University's 'Global Freshman Academy'. My participation in this course was preceded by writing of a different nature: songwriting and music composition through the creation of an album, and, music composition and music history writing through Trinity College, London.
My key career ambition is to become a barrister that practices law. This ambition is linked to my music writing through a desire for social justice through engagement and communication. Professional negligence, and human rights are areas of law that I would like to practice, therefore, this course has provided me with excellent experience as an investigative reader, writer, and critical thinker in preparation for subsequent academic courses. By spring 2018, this course, and other future courses such as English 102-Research and Writing, or Human Origins, will have provided me with further opportunities to investigate the world, and to nurture my writing practices in preparation for the academic study of law. Following a course in law, I would like to complete the Bar Professional Training Course, and following that, apply for pupilage at 4 New Square chambers, London. My experience working at 4 New Square chambers inspired me to write music for my album, which is an experience that can be observed through reading "Writing Project #1-Autoethnography: The Creation of Music inspired by Nature". This experience assisted me with having faith in who I am as a thinker, and as a writer that believes all individuals should remain equal, which is only possible through trust and understanding, which are qualities that written and verbal communication assist us in achieving as citizens of the world.
